🌍 Travel Itinerary
- Day 1:Cusco - Chinchero and Maras Moray
📅DAY 1: CUSCO – CHINCHERO – MORAY – MARAS – PICNIC
We will pick up the group in Cusco in the morning, around 8:00 a.m. (it is recommended to have breakfast before starting the tour). Our first stop will be Chinchero, a charming town where we will visit a textile center. Here, visitors can witness the traditional art of weaving an ancestral technique passed down through generations over the centuries. After this visit, we will continue to Moray, an archaeological site that was part of the Inca Empire and stands out for its concentric terraces. This place functioned as an agricultural laboratory where the Incas experimented with different crops, taking advantage of the microclimates created at each level of the terraces. We will make a strategic stop at a viewpoint to enjoy a panoramic view, ideal for taking photographs. Our third stop will be the Maras Salt Mines, located at 3,380 meters (11,080 feet) above sea level. This impressive complex has 3,000 salt ponds carved into the side of a mountain, making it one of the few places in the world where pink salt is extracted by hand, using the same ancient technique inherited from the Incas. During this visit, we will also visit a facility that explains the salt extraction and processing process. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to taste and purchase different types of salt, known for their various natural properties. After finishing the tour through these archaeological and natural sites, we will head to the location where we’ll enjoy an exclusive private picnic in a privileged natural setting. Finally, we’ll begin our return trip to Cusco, arriving at approximately 3:30 p.m., with an estimated travel time of one hour.Includes
