🌍 Travel Itinerary

📅DAY 1: CUSCO – CITY AND SURROUNDINGS

Upon your arrival in Cusco, you will be picked up at the airport or bus station and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, at 1:00 p.m., we will begin a guided city tour. The first stop will be at the Cusco Cathedral, followed by the Temple of Qorikancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun. Then, we will visit the nearby archaeological sites: Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay.

The tour will end at the Main Square around 6:00 p.m. You’ll have the rest of the evening free to rest and acclimate to the altitude.

📅DAY 2: SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS – AGUAS CALIENTES

At 8:00 a.m., we will begin our excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our first stop will be in Pisac, where we will visit its archaeological site and artisan market  a perfect place to buy alpaca products and unique souvenirs.

At midday, we’ll head to Urubamba to enjoy a buffet lunch featuring a variety of dishes from Peruvian cuisine.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress, an impressive archaeological site filled with Inca architecture and fascinating legends. After the tour, we’ll board the train bound for Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night.

📅DAY 3: MACHU PICCHU + HUAYNA PICCHU EXCURSION

We’ll start the day very early to make the most of this extraordinary experience. Early in the morning, we’ll take the bus that winds its way up to Machu Picchu, a journey of approximately 25 minutes. Upon arrival, we’ll go directly to the entrance of Huayna Picchu to begin the ascent at the first available time slot (7:00 a.m.), taking advantage of the morning freshness to conquer this steep mountain that offers the most spectacular views of the archaeological complex and its surroundings.

After completing the challenging but rewarding climb to Huayna Picchu (approximately 45 minutes uphill), we’ll have some time to enjoy the panoramic views and take photographs from this privileged spot. We will then descend to meet our guide and begin the full guided tour of Machu Picchu. The tour includes visits to the main temples, ceremonial plazas, and agricultural terraces, while learning about the fascinating history, technology, and worldview of the Inca civilization.

After the guided visit, you’ll have free time to explore the site at your own pace, take more photos, or simply absorb the magic of this wonder of the world. In the afternoon, we’ll take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where transportation will be waiting to return us to Cusco. You’ll rest after a day full of unforgettable experiences at one of the most iconic destinations on Earth.

📅DAY 4: MARAS AND MORAY

At 7:30 a.m., we’ll depart to visit the impressive archaeological sites of Maras and Moray.

Our first stop will be at Moray, an ancient Inca agricultural laboratory with circular terraces that recreated various microclimates for crop experimentation. We will then continue to the Maras Salt Mines, a network of more than 3,000 natural salt pools that have been exploited since Inca times.

On the way back to Cusco, we’ll stop in Chinchero to visit an alpaca textile workshop and learn about the traditional process of weaving.

Note: This tour can also be done by bike or ATV for those seeking a more adventurous experience.

📅DAY 5: RAINBOW MOUNTAIN HIKE

We’ll start the day early with a drive to Cusipata, where we’ll have breakfast before continuing to the starting point of our hike.

The hike to Rainbow Mountain takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes along a trail surrounded by Andean landscapes, snow-capped peaks, and local wildlife, including llamas and alpacas.

Upon reaching the Vinicunca viewpoint (5,080 m a.s.l.), we’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the multicolored mountain. Our guide will provide information about its geology, ecosystem, and the meaning of its colors.

Afterward, we’ll descend back to the starting point and board our transport to return to Cusipata for lunch, before heading back to Cusco.

📅DAY 6: HOTEL – AIRPORT

After breakfast at the hotel, at the scheduled time, you will be transferred to the airport to take your return flight.
