Our excursion begins with pick-up from your hotel at the scheduled time, followed by our journey to Moray and the Maras Salt Mines.
Route/Itinerary
After picking you up, we will head towards the cycling adventure with a short 45-minute vehicle ride to the Cruz Pata base, the starting point of our bike route.
During the ride, we will pass through charming villages where you can observe the daily life of the locals, immersing yourself in the authentic culture of the region.
After approximately an hour and a half of pedaling, we will arrive at Moray, a fascinating archaeological site that will amaze any visitor. Here, you will discover impressive natural depressions in the ground, used by the ancient Incas to build large agricultural terraces that served as experimental laboratories for the development of new agricultural techniques that are still applied today.
One of the most surprising features of the Moray Agricultural Laboratory is its microclimate, where the temperature difference between the upper and lower parts of the terraces creates an ideal environment for agricultural experimentation.
Continuing our exciting journey, we will descend to the picturesque village of Maras, where the famous "Salineras de Maras" await. This complex, composed of about 4,500 salt pools with an average surface area of 5 m² each, is nestled on the slopes of the Qaqawiñay mountain.
Here, you will have the opportunity to observe how locals extract salt from these pools filled with saltwater from a natural spring, in a process that dates back to ancient times.
To conclude this unforgettable day, we will head to Urubamba, where we will board a comfortable transportation service back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 6 p.m.

We do not include tickets to the Inca ruins because we recommend purchasing the General Tourist Ticket, which is valid for 10 days and covers entry to many museums in Cusco and most archaeological sites in Cusco and the Sacred Valley. A Student Tourist Ticket costs S/ 70.00 soles for students with a valid ISIC card and for Peruvian citizens in general; it is also valid for 10 days.
This is the best option if you want to visit the archaeological complexes in Cusco and the Sacred Valley during your stay. If you do not need the General Tourist Ticket, you have the option to buy the "Partial Tourist Ticket," which costs S/ 70.00 and is valid for a specific circuit of ruins for one day only.
