Machu Picchu 5 days 4 nights

📅Day 1: Arrival in Cusco

Upon arrival, our team will be waiting for you at the Cusco airport to transfer you to your hotel. In the afternoon, we’ll take a guided tour of the Imperial City of Cusco, visiting the Main Square, the Cathedral, the Temple of Qoricancha, and the nearby archaeological centers of Kenko, Tambomachay, Pucapucara, and the Fortress of Sacsayhuamán. Overnight in Cusco.

📅Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas Tour

After breakfast, between 8:30 and 8:45 a.m., we’ll pick you up from your hotel to begin the guided tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We’ll visit the traditional market of Pisac, held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, where locals exchange products just as their ancestors once did. We’ll continue with a buffet lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, we’ll head to the town and fortress of Ollantaytambo, built to protect the valley entrance from possible jungle invasions. You’ll have the opportunity to walk through its streets and learn how this site functioned as a military, religious, and cultural center during the Inca Empire. On the way back, we’ll stop in Chinchero, home to the remains of the royal estate of Tupac Inca Yupanqui. You’ll admire its well-preserved Inca wall in the main square and visit the beautiful colonial temple adorned with interesting frescoes, built atop Inca foundations. Return to the hotel in Cusco.

📅Day 3: Cusco – Machu Picchu

Breakfast at the hotel. Around 10:00 a.m., we’ll transfer you to the train station in Ollantaytambo to board the train to Aguas Calientes, arriving at approximately 3:00 p.m. After checking in at your selected hotel, you’ll have the afternoon free to explore the town and visit its hot springs. In the evening, around 8:00 p.m., our guide will meet you at the hotel to provide details about the next day’s excursion to Machu Picchu.

📅Day 4: Excursion to Machu Picchu

After breakfast, we’ll head to the station to board the buses that will take you to the citadel of Machu Picchu on a 30-minute ride. Once on the mountain, we’ll enjoy the sunrise over the citadel. Then, our guide will begin a 2-hour tour through the main areas: Agricultural, Civil, Military, and Religious sectors, visiting the Intihuatana, the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Condor, and other important sites. Afterward, you’ll have free time to explore the site on your own, and around 2:00 p.m., we’ll take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you can have lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll return by train to Cusco, where our staff will meet you at the Poroy station for your transfer to the hotel.

📅Day 5: Return to Lima

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport to take your return flight to Lima.
