Day 1: Aguas Calientes
At approximately 6:00 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to transfer you to the train station located in the town of Poroy (25 minutes from Cusco). Then, we will board the train of the company "PERURAIL" and begin the journey to the town of "Aguas Calientes" (2,000 masl) where our guide will be waiting for you. With him, we will head to the bus station to ascend 400 meters in height on a winding road for about 30 minutes until we reach the "Sanctuary of Machu Picchu," known as "The Lost City of the Incas."
Upon arrival at the citadel of Machu Picchu, our guide will start the guided tour, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the royal quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the cemeteries for more than two hours. Then, you will be given free time to stroll through the citadel and/or have your meals in one of the varied restaurants in the town of Aguas Calientes or if you wish at the Hotel Sanctuary Lodge (lunch is at your expense).
Return to Cusco .
