Itinerary
Itinerary:
From 05:30 h. You will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco by our representative and then will be transferred (hour and a half trip) in a private vehicle to Ollantaytambo station, to take the train to take us to Aguas Calientes (a small town near the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu). The train journey takes about 2 hours and offers spectacular ride on landscapes combining mountains and jungle. The train descends to 2100 meters high in the direction of the Urubamba River. Without a doubt this is one of the most spectacular rides we have in Peru as it offers beautiful scenery all the way. Upon your arrival in Aguas Calientes a representative will meet you at our station and then take him to the bus station to take the shuttle to take us up the hill to the ruins of Machu Picchu. This short trip takes only 20 minutes bus and walk a very steep and zigzagging through a forested mountain with features and stunning views unpaved track. Finally we arrive at Machu Picchu Sanctuary where our local guide will make us a tour of the most important sectors of this beautiful Inca citadel. In Machu Picchu we will make a tour of 2 hours with our guide and visit the agricultural area, formed by assemblies of cultivation terraces, urban area where the occupants lived and where the main civil and religious activities were developed. Also visit the Intiwatana of Machu Picchu located in the highest part of the citadel, the temple of the sun, the condor and other important sectors. Later you will have free time to explore the city on your own. Around 13:00 pm, we will be taking the bus back to Aguas Calientes where you can have lunch. In the afternoon return by train to the town of Ollantayambo. Upon your arrival in Ollantaytambo station a representative of Wayna Machu Picchu will be waiting, and after a cordial greeting will transport by private vehicle to the city of Cusco. The trip to Cusco lasts an hour and a half. Upon arrival in Cusco our driver left them at their hotel.
