This version of the Short Inca Trail, 2 days 1 night, starts from km 104, located at 2,100 m/6,890 ft (departing by train from Ollantaytambo). It is a 16-kilometer hike to Machu Picchu, where you can delight in spectacular high Andean landscapes and the jungle. During the journey, we will visit Inca constructions such as Chachabamba, Choquesuysuy, Wiñaywayna, etc. Additionally, you can find a great variety of flora and fauna, as well as a diversity of birds.

Day 1: Wiñaywayna - Aguas Calientes (L)(D)

Pick up from the hotel very early in the morning to head to the station where we will board the train that will take us to km. 104, where the guide will be waiting to start our hike together from the archaeological group of Chachabamba, located at 2250 meters above sea level. Our guide will lead us through the complex until reaching the agricultural center of Wiñay Wayna. Along the way, you can appreciate the beautiful views of the Urubamba River, as well as the different types of orchids you will find along the way. After contemplating the magnificent landscape offered by the Inca Trail, we will take a short break for lunch and continue our hike towards Machu Picchu to appreciate the beautiful sunset over the Inti Punku (Sun Gate). After this unforgettable experience, we will descend to Aguas Calientes and have a group dinner with your guide and spend the night at the hotel of your choice, either on your own or included.

Day 2: Machupicchu - Cusco (B)

After breakfast, we will visit the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu (2400 m). Our guided tour will last approximately 2 to 2 and a half hours, touring the surroundings of the Inca citadel, visiting the main sites such as: the enclosures, squares, sacred fountains, temples, the agricultural and urban sector. After our visit, you can continue exploring Machu Picchu on your own and, if you have the entrance to Machu Picchu-Huayna Picchu, you could take that opportunity to climb that mountain on your own. According to the schedule of your return train, we will return to Aguas Calientes to board the train that will take us to the Ollantaytambo or Poroy station, subject to availability, and from that point we will wait for you by car to take you back to Cusco, leaving you at your same hotel.
