Walk Tour in Cusco:
This tour in Cusco is the perfect activity for your first day in Cusco that will help you acclimate and explore the city. We will pass by the most important places of Cusco and show you the best places to shop, eat, drink and good fun!
We start the tour in the surrounding mountains to Cusco, which shows Christ White, from where we have a breathtaking view of the city. On the way down to the city we pass (the entrance is optional) by the archaeological remains of Sacsayhuaman, an impressive walled complex made of giant stones. This place is a great example of the expertise that the Incas reached about work in stone. Sacsayhuaman is considered as World Heritage by UNESCO since 1983. Our first stop is the neighborhood of San Blas, a place full of art and history that hosts an important parish and many artists and neighborhood workshops. We walk through its narrow and steep streets to see very old houses dating from the time of the Spanish occupation; the same that were built using the ancient Inca constructions bases. We stop at The Stone of Twelve Angles. We continue the way to the Plaza de Armas, web see the beautiful and impressive cathedral. The last stop will be at the Local Market of San Pedro, a place that is open every day of the week and has a wide variety of products such as cakes, fresh juices, delicious cheeses, huge breads even bigger than a head, tropical fruits and vegetables, herbs and spices, fresh coca leaves and also “strange” things like snakes in the bottle, snouts and animal heads in soups served. We may want to take much time here as we explore the many stalls. Be inspired by the variety of this place.
